The Opening of Eyes

That day I saw beneath dark clouds

The passing light over the water

And I heard the voice of the world speak out

I knew then, as I had before

Life is no passing memory of what has been

Nor the remaining pages in a great book

Waiting to be read.

It is the opening of eyes long closed.

It is the vision of far off things

Seen for the silence they hold.

It is the heart after years of secret conversing

Speaking out loud in the clear air.

It is Moses in the desert fallen to his knees

Before the lit bush.

It is the man throwing away his shoes

As if to enter heaven and finding himself astonished,

Opened at last,

Fallen in love

With solid ground.

Ayurveda is a system of care in which each client is treated as an individual.  As I work with a person I listen with an open heart and mind, aware that each phrase uttered, and often those held back, are ways to learn about the person sitting in front of me.  I provide a safe space where healing can begin, ever aware that my job is to be a catalyst, acting to help awaken each person's own intuitive gifts.

During a consultation I offer diet and lifestyle suggestions as a first step in restoring balance.  A great amount of healing can take place by simply beginning a daily ritual of nurturing practices.  Self-massage with a specific herbal oil is one of the most direct ways to soften the effects of a fast paced and stressful life.  Meditative breath work and yoga are yet two other tools that are gentle and powerful at the same time.

An initial consultation will last about an hour and a half.  In this meeting, you are given ample time to share your story and to voice any concerns you may have.  Emphasis is placed on understanding your
constitution as well as any imbalances you may be experiencing.  I will offer concrete suggestions at the end of the appointment and will follow up with either a phone call or an email to give more specific direction.  A second appointment, at least two weeks after the initial consult, is suggested in order to cover questions or concerns and to understand more deeply the wisdom of an Ayurvedic lifestyle.

I would love to help you to bring greater balance into your life and would be honored to work with you. To book a consultation, please contact Lisa here. In preparation for our consultation you will need to fill out this questionnaire.
